Margaret Corbit, aka queenbee
Director, SciCentr.org
My role as director of SciCentr.org is exciting and always changing. I
spend a lot of time trying to capture the great ideas that bubble up
from our community of educators, scientists, and students. And then we
try and figure out how to bring them to life. Oddly enough, my
background is well suited to the job. I have a BA in Theater Arts and an
MS in Ecology and am the mom of a college student. You can learn more
about my formal activities at

Britt Gamble aka Butterfly
Education Coordinator
Hello and welcome to scicentr.org. As the Education Coordinator for the SciCentr,
I am mainly responsible for overseeing development and administration of curriculum
and teacher education. I am an experienced teacher with a BS is Wildlife Biology,
Forestry and Natural Resource Conservation and am currently working on an MBA with
a concentration in Public Administration. I have over five years of educational
outreach experience within both academic and community-based organizations. Most
of the organizations that I was affiliated with were mainly in the southern United
States. My hobbies revolve around doing anything, "fun." Most recently, I’ve gone
fishing, hiking, and taken up knitting. Got any fun suggestions?
Cathy Norton, aka Cricket
Program Coordinator
Greetings from SciCentr! My name is Cathy Norton, but I go by "Cricket" in-world.
Look for my avatar in EduPlay, a world I developed for professional development
training. When I am not showing people the nuts and bolts of the program, I am usually
focused on evaluating and documenting the effectiveness of our various programs.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Alfred University and three years
toward a Ph.D in clinical psychology. Before coming to Cornell, I was the director
of a residential treatment program for emotionally disturbed teenage boys. My research
interests center on adolescent motivation - a hallmark of SciCentr programs and
something I feel passionately about. Outside of work, I might be found in the garden,
on the internet feeding my inner info-geek or simply bouncing around town enjoying
the good life as an Ithacan.
Rich Bernstein
Technical Coordinator
As the Technical Coordinator for SciCentr's outreach programs,
I'm responsible for maintaining the CUni server software
and web sites, managing CUni accounts, technical support
and software development. I also help document our programs,
and train and support our mentors and developers. My background
is mainly in Computer Science (B.S., Cornell '02). I have since
developed an interest in Sustainable Development, especially energy
issues. I also teach rock climbing and teambuilding with
Cornell Outdoor Education.
Besides climbing, I enjoy biking, skiing, hiking, camping, laying
in hammocks, and live music.
