There are no known problems with CUni at this time.
When possible, maintenance on the servers that host CUni and our web sites will
be scheduled during 5-7am Monday-Friday or 6am-noon Sunday, Eastern time. Maintenance
during these time windows might be unannounced, but we will avoid interrupting known
events when possible. Brief interruptions may also occur for maintenance during
off-hours when no users are online.
There will routinely be a short downtime following the application
of Windows patches on the Thursday morning after the second tuesday
of each month (during the standard time window). Connections to CUni (and this web
site) might be interrupted for a few minutes. If you are in CUni, you might lose
building changes and chat during such times, or you might fail to connect. If this
happens, please try again after waiting a few minutes.

Status Alert History
6/6/2008. There will be a downtime affecting CUni and most SciCentr.org
web sites on Friday, June 6, likely lasting all day. The server hosting these services
will be re-configured, completing the work started the prior week. Work could begin
the night of Thursday 6/5.
5/30/2008.The downtime work is mostly complete, but we are still
working to resolve issues with FTP access to the Object Path server using passive
mode, and CUni connections that use the tunnel server. Users who use the firewall
connection mode to access CUni may be unable to connect until Monday; direct connections
are unaffected.
5/30/2008. There will be a server downtime affecting CUni and most
SciCentr.org web sites on Friday, May 30, starting mid-morning and possibly lasting
most or all of the day. The server hosting these services is being moved to a new
network.
2/6/2008. [Downtime was cancelled]. There will be a CUni
universe downtime Wednesday evening, February 6, 6-10pm EST. Our web sites will
also be unavailable at that time. The downtime is expected to be much shorter than
the time window given.
11/9/2007. There will be a CUni universe downtime Friday afternoon,
November 9, 1-5pm EST, for testing of a software upgrade. We apologize for any inconvenience.
8/30/2007. The CUni server will be offline intermittently for a
software upgrade on 8/30-31. Users will not be able to connect to the Universe during
these outages. Other systems should not be affected.
8/27/2007. The latest version of CUni 4.1 has been released, and
all users must upgrade. The CTCUni 3.6 Universe is no longer supported.
8/5/2007. All services, including CTCUni and this web site, will
be unavailable part of Sunday, August 5. The outage is due to Cornell-wide network
maintenance, which is expected to take place between 6am and 7am.
10/8/2006. There will be maintenance on the CTCUni server's network
between 8am and noon on Sunday, October 8. There should only be brief connectivity
interruptions during this time.
